Requirements
  • The candidate must be at least 18 years of age.
  • The candidate must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • The candidate must pass a background check and accreditation screening, including having no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions for offenses relating to children.
  • The candidate must pass a drug test, including the required post-hire employment drug screen.
  • The candidate must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable.
  • Indian preference is considered with verification of Indian heritage.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and nurturing learning environment for children placed in the aide's care.
  • Promote the Kanza Child Care Center in a positive way to parents and the community.
  • Provide classroom management while main teachers are away.
  • Perform laundry as needed and keep the laundry room clean.
  • Cover classrooms while teachers are absent, on lunch, or on break.
  • Maintain client confidentiality.
  • Attend local, state, regional, and national childcare meetings or training when deemed appropriate.
  • Help keep both the School Age and Daycare buildings clean, including bathrooms, entryways, common areas, kitchen, and laundry rooms.
  • Help in all classrooms when and where needed.
  • Drive a van when needed to pick up students after school or during field trips.
  • Keep inventory of supplies in laundry rooms and give orders to the supervisor when supplies are running low.
  • Perform flexible duties as needed.
  • Complete other duties assigned by the immediate or controlling supervisor.
