Requirements
  • More than five years of relevant experience in an Agile coaching role, such as Scrum Master or Agile Coach, applying and reinforcing Agile best practices.
  • Hands-on experience working with teams using Scrum and Kanban.
  • Experience working in a large-scale Agile environment, such as SAFe, Nexus, or LeSS, involving feature delivery with multiple dependencies on other teams.
  • More than five years of experience in information technology.
  • At least five years of experience in a large corporation.
  • A Bachelor's degree in information technology or equivalent experience.
  • A Scrum Master certification, such as CSM, PSM, or SSM, or a Kanban certification, such as TKP, KMP, or PSK.
  • Knowledge of Agile practices and frameworks such as Kanban, JIT, Lean principles, Disciplined Agile, SAFe, and Nexus.
  • Leadership, facilitation, and coaching skills.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as Scrum Master for two teams by providing guidance on the Agile mindset and practices, self-organization, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Help teams stay focused on meeting commitments and creating value in line with expected quality standards.
  • Address obstacles in a timely manner to minimize their impact on commitments and improve value delivery.
  • Support teams in defining their ways of working and ensure those ways are followed.
  • Facilitate key team meetings, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Help the Product Owner maintain a healthy product backlog and coach the Product Owner on the role.
  • Ensure cross-team coordination with other Scrum Masters and Delivery Leads, and manage dependencies between teams and third parties.
  • Coach teams on planning and estimation best practices.
  • Coach teams on systems thinking and organizational awareness.
  • Maintain and report relevant team metrics, tracking progress toward delivery milestones.
  • Participate in the BDC Agile chapter and product family.
  • Support the organization in adopting an Agile mindset and practices.

Helcim raises $53M at $250M valuation as RBC, BMO sell Moneris to US buyer

The Business Development Bank of Canada's growth venture unit has led a $53-million equity financing in Calgary-based payments processor Helcim, valuing the company at $250 million. This represents a significant increase from Helcim's $97-million valuation in its previous 2024 capital raise. The financing comes as Canadian banks exit the payments processing sector. Helcim CEO Nicolas Beique told The Globe and Mail the company experienced "a huge influx of business" after TD Bank sold its payments unit to Milwaukee-based Fiserv last year. Fondaction and BDC invest in Icentia to accelerate cardiovascular diagnostic tech rollout

Fondaction and the Business Development Bank of Canada have invested in Icentia, a Québec medical technology company. The funding round, which included existing investors Investissement Québec, CIC Capital, and the Theodorus Fund, will accelerate deployment of Icentia's CardioSTAT® technology. CardioSTAT® is a long-term ambulatory cardiac monitoring solution combining a single-use ECG recorder with artificial intelligence-powered analysis. The technology enables early detection of cardiac arrhythmias, helping prevent complications as heart disease becomes more prevalent. The investment comes as Icentia reaches financial and operational self-sufficiency, supported by commercial traction across several key markets. Icentia operates cardiac diagnostic facilities in Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Fondaction manages more than $4.5 billion in net assets as of 31 May 2026.

Palitronica closes Series A led by BDC to scale AI-powered hardware cybersecurity for defence and manufacturing

Palitronica, a Canadian cybersecurity firm specialising in hardware and firmware protection for safety-critical manufacturing and defence infrastructure, has closed its Series A funding round. The round was led by the Business Development Bank of Canada's Industrial Innovation Venture Fund, with participation from Three Kings Capital, Frostbite, and Unpopular Ventures. The Waterloo-based company will use the capital to accelerate research and development of its AI and cybersecurity platform, expand its team, and scale customer acquisition and international growth.
