Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited high school or GED program
  • Two years of work related laboratory experience, or one year of formal training and one year work related laboratory experience, or 30 hours from an accredited college or university in a job related field or a combination of the two
Responsibilities
  • Performs testing and identification procedures required on serology and microbiology specimens submitted to the laboratory
  • Performs procedures necessary for the accurate accessioning of specimens from receiving to reporting; prepares reagents, stains, and other items as required; and performs all necessary quality control procedures
  • Ensures safety procedures are followed and performs necessary maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Participates in proficiency testing
  • Performs other duties as assigned
