Amentum is seeking a dynamic and innovative Task Management System Manager in support of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) Operations Directorate at Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii.

The Task Management System (TMS) Manager acts as the central hub for task management within the J3 Directorate. They ensure tasks are assigned, tracked, completed, and properly coordinated, enabling the J3 to effectively manage its operational responsibilities. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills, as well as a thorough understanding of task management procedures and regulations.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Primary point of contact for all TMS activities within the J3 Directorate and J31(Operations Support) Division. Ensure tasks are executed promptly and in accordance with established command guidelines.
- Distribute tasks originating from higher authorities (HQs, Joint Staff, OSD) to the appropriate J3 divisions. This requires understanding the responsibilities and expertise of each division.
- Ensure compliance with deadlines and proper coordination with the Headquarters Staff. Act as a liaison, facilitating communication and information flow between different parts of the organization.
- Support the development and review of complex staffing packets for various leadership levels (from division through directorate to command level). Ensures packets are complete, accurate, and ready for senior leader review.
- Closely monitor task completion and provide weekly status updates to Flag/General Officer (FO/GO) level. Provides leadership with visibility into the progress of ongoing tasks.
- Serve as a crucial link between the J31, the J3 Front Office, subordinate divisions, and command level. Relay information and instructions, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
- Advise staff action control personnel on task management procedures, requirements, and instructions. Administer TMS training and assist users with any issues. This includes training Action Officers on process and packet development, providing examples and guidance.
- Review documents developed by J3 staff for administrative matters before they are submitted to the J3 or command level. This ensures compliance with regulations and policy. Review incoming and outgoing correspondence, determining appropriate action and distribution.
- Apply strong analytical skills to manage, prioritize, and support activities, ensuring the J3’s ability to effectively staff, plan, direct, and supervise all mission sets.
- Assist subordinate staff in implementing directions from Directorate senior leaders. May also provide occasional typing or document preparation from rough drafts.
- Manages routine matters, referring complex inquiries to the appropriate personnel. Receives calls, greets visitors, and directs them to the correct staff.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on administrative procedures, providing guidance on correspondence preparation, reports, and other electronic materials. Implements directives and instructional materials related to administrative practices.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience supporting plans or operations at a Combatant Command, Service Component HQ, or Joint Staff.
- At least 3 years of experience supporting operations in the Indo-Pacific Area of Responsibility.
- Experience developing communications among Service Components, OSD (Office of the Secretary of Defense), and Joint Staff.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills.
- Proficient at Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Must have an active Top-Secret clearance and be SCI eligible. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or at least additional 8 years of documented operational planning experience in lieu of degree.
- Experience coordination with other Department of Defense (DoD) entities, including the Joint Staff, the Office of the Secretary of Defense and USINDOPACOM’s Service Components as well as non-DoD organizations such as DHS and State Department.
- Experience at USINDOPACOM Headquarters.
The salary range for this position is $125K to $155K. (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
