Requirements
  • High School Diploma, equivalent or higher
  • Demonstrated customer service excellence
  • Three years of experience selling used commercial vehicles
  • Proven ability to work well in a team
  • Must have a Commercial Driver License (class B) or ability to acquire within 6 months
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical/drug test and background/MVR check
  • Multi-lingual applicants encouraged
Responsibilities
  • Sells new and used heavy duty trucks in a dedicated territory, will be both inside and outside sales calling on customers in your assigned territory
  • Assists customers in selecting/ordering trucks and components which suit their business needs
  • Understands and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect the sale of heavy-duty vehicles
  • Actively finds new and existing prospects either by telephone or by making calls to individuals and businesses outside the dealership
  • Provides follow-up and ongoing service to existing customers
  • Offers service to all walk-in and call-in customers on assigned floor days
  • Delivers new trucks, explaining new-truck warranty and service policies
  • Studies truck and equipment specifications to improve knowledge of product performance and application continually
  • Appraises used trucks when necessary
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
