Requirements
  • CPA certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in banking or lending.
  • Solid accounting fundamentals, including debits and credits, accruals, and month-end close.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Hands-on use of artificial intelligence tools to do real work.
  • Ability to own workflows end to end in a lean startup.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the liaison between external bookkeepers and the internal financial model.
  • Support various aspects of the accounting and reporting process.
  • Lead delivery of accounting tasks and close the books each month.
  • Help restructure the chart of accounts so reporting matches how the company operates and forecasts.
  • Transition bookkeeping in-house over time.
  • Own day-to-day finance administration workflows, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, vendor management, expense management, and payroll coordination.
  • Identify process improvement and automation opportunities across the organization.
  • Build and maintain Excel models and reporting that connect actuals to forecasts.
  • Support leadership with variance analysis and ad hoc data analysis, escalating risks and issues to leadership as needed.
