Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Client Technology Staging Technician to contribute to our dynamic team. In this critical role, you’ll directly contribute to client satisfaction by crafting high-performance PCs that meet their specific needs. You’ll leverage your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to ensure efficient, accurate assembly, upholding Abacus’ industry-leading standards.
Responsibilities (including, but not limited to the following):
- Build and configure client PCs using the Abacus standard PC build and procurement process.
- Manage and maintain inventory systems for internal hardware, ensuring accurate tracking and data integrity.
- Collaborate with the Procurement Team to receive, tag, and track incoming IT equipment.
- Initiate requests for hardware restocking to maintain optimal internal inventory levels.
- Utilize ConnectWise ticketing system to manage PC build times and meet daily service level agreements (SLAs).
- Work with PC imaging and pre-built PC build scripts when applicable, streamlining the build process.
- Adhere to Abacus PC build checklists and any custom client checklists
- Provide daily and weekly status updates to the PC Build Manager, including completed tickets, deployed machines, and estimated upcoming workload to facilitate proactive planning.
- Collaborate with engineering to explore scripting and RMM (Remote Monitoring and Management) tools for process automation, fostering continuous improvement.
- Work collaboratively with teammates to identify and implement improvements to PC build and procurement workflows, optimizing efficiency.
- Safely lift and maneuver computer hardware weighing up to 25 lbs, adhering to safety protocols.
- Schedule and prepare hardware for courier or FedEx delivery, ensuring timely and secure shipment.
- Report to our San Francisco office Monday – Friday
Skills:
- Basic understanding of PC hardware components and assembly processes.
- Proficiency with Windows operating system installation and configuration.
- Working knowledge of basic desktop and network troubleshooting principles (BSOD, IPConfig, Active Directory concepts).
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues (video cards, USB devices, and drivers).
- Familiarity with core Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and Microsoft cloud services (Office 365, Intune, AzureAD)
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing and meeting deadlines consistently.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality PC builds, ensuring client satisfaction.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and manage resources efficiently.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding and experience with PC support.
- Proficiency in installing Windows software, applications, antivirus solutions, and security patches.
