Japan Post Capital has invested in US-based Apptronik, which develops humanoid robots with physical AI, as part of its Series A funding round. Apptronik, spun out from the University of Texas at Austin, raised $350 million in February 2025, led by B Capital and Capital Factory, with Google also participating. In March, an additional $53 million was raised with new investors including Japan Post Capital and Mercedes-Benz. Apptronik aims to accelerate the production and deployment of its Apollo robot.
As part of its efforts, MLB4S is partnering with Apptronik to build the next generation of humanoid robots with Gemini 2.0.
