The Job
This position is part of the Two Rivers Correctional Institution (TRCI) Physical Plant and is responsible for designing, installing, administrating, technical support, and maintenance for all security electronic devices. This includes network computer equipment, operating system software installation and upgrades, complex on and off-site hardware and software troubleshooting. May be called for emergency off hour repair or reprogramming of alarm, camera, voice and data systems to assure institution security is maintained.
You will work with other tradesmen and maintenance specialists as well as mentor and train teams of adults in custody (AIC) to complete work assignments. You will mentor and trainer as an expert in your field to help those assigned AIC's develop skills to have upon release from custody.
Two Rivers Correctional Institution (TRCI) is a men’s minimum and medium custody facility in Umatilla, Oregon. TRCI was opened in 2000 and has the capacity to house 1,632 Adults in Custody. (AIC).
TRCI includes housing units, a commercial kitchen, industrial areas, administrative office, and perimeter security which rely on the work of this position.
What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a current LEA electrical issued by the Oregon Building Codes Division AND six years of experience in the installation, maintenance, or repair of manual and computer controlled electronic systems; OR
A General Journeyman Electrician license AND six years of experience in the installation, maintenance, or repair of manual and computer controlled electronic systems.

The salary range listed above is for non-PERS qualifying applicants. PERS qualifying applicants may be eligible for an adjusted range to reflect an additional 6.95%.

Requirements for Employment
The successful candidate for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, there may be some felony convictions that could disqualify you for this position. However, having a felony record does not exclusively restrict you from being considered as an applicant. CJIS clearance is done at the conditional job offer.
