Cash Posting Specialist

The Cash Posting Specialist is responsible for all facets of payment posting, including applying remittance advice to Accounts Receivable (AR), applying manual and electronic payments, co-payments, and deductions to the client’s account, and distributing Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to Accounts Receivable.

Responsibilities: 

The below reflects the essential functions considered necessary for this role and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all work requirements inherent in the job or assigned by supervisory personnel. 1. Post all electronic and paper remittance advices daily.
2. Support implementation of 835 electronic remits.
3. Reconcile all cash posted for revenue cycle against the daily cash deposit tracker.
4. Complete all necessary and approved adjustments when required.
5. Assist and aid Billing and Collections Representatives on posting and adjustments related to payor processing issues.
6. Ensures all payor denials are posted.
7. Scan and index EOBs and Remittance Advices to the proper shared folder.
8. Forward overpayments to the AR Team for research.
9. Research unidentified payments to deter.
10. Compliance with Centria's Code of Conduct, policies and procedures, and Federal and State laws.
11.  Responsibility to report violations of Company policies or the Code of Conduct.

Qualifications

Pay Rate:

$17-21/hr plus bonus

Education/Licenses

High School diploma or equivalent, minimum requirement

Work Experience

• 1 – 2 years of data entry experience
• Previous cash posting experience, preferred

Equipment and Technology Requirements

• Basic computer skills
• Working knowledge of laptop/desktop PC
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
• Proficiency in G Suite

• Ability to use computers and computer/software programs
• Ability to communicate expressively and receptively

Knowledge and Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially spreadsheet programs;
• Requires strong quantitative, statistical, and analytical skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills;
• Highly organized, with attention to detail and a dedication to resolving issues;
• Ability to apply and adopt practices and techniques to the specifications set by senior leadership;
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with internal and external stakeholders;
• Ability to build rapport with team members, explain complicated information in an approachable and easily understood manner, effectively handle challenging phone conversations, and represent the Centria brand;
• Ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks, adhere to established deadlines, and produce work that consistently meets or exceeds team benchmarks;
• Results-driven with the aptitude to apply critical thinking skills and problem-solving;
• Proven adaptability with a willingness to work both collaboratively and individually to achieve desired business outcomes;
• Demonstrated strong work ethic with attention to detail, accuracy, and quality;
• Established track record of generating error-free work.

Working Conditions:

• Centria's office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM.
• Additional time or occasional shifts in schedule may be required to complete the above work or meet company objectives.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, physical requirements such as bending, reaching and lifting of up to 30 pounds may be required. This role will require sitting a majority of the day as well as walking as standing when needed. This role will require close visual activity on multiple computer screens or monitors and the ability to analyze data and figures on a screen.
