Requirements
  • One to five years of adjacent back-office financial operations experience in benefits administration, money movement and wires, insurance claims processing, tax preparation processing, loan or mortgage document processing, or compliance or quality-control support.
  • Experience with document review and transaction processing as daily job responsibilities.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Responsibilities
  • Work with clients to obtain the information necessary to prepare annual reporting.
  • Review documents submitted by clients for completeness and accuracy.
  • Reconcile plans with only rollovers and plan stock using Microsoft Excel and administration software.
  • Use administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting.
  • Make outgoing reminder calls and send emails to clients during the plan-year reporting process.
  • Prepare required 401(k) plan government filings, including Internal Revenue Service Form 5500, using filing software.
  • Educate clients about the administration of their 401(k) plans and plan documents.
  • Share knowledge and explain complex topics simply.
  • Complete training on concepts for a Retirement Plan Administrator I.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Direct retirement-plan operations experience, including 401(k) or Individual Retirement Account administration, recordkeeping, distributions and rollovers, compliance testing, or Form 5500 or year-end reporting.
  • Experience with reconciliation as a daily job responsibility.
  • An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field such as business or finance, or equivalent work experience.
  • Basic knowledge of 401(k) plan structure, Rollovers as Business Start-ups, and Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor regulations.
