Requirements
- Proficiency in Fine Art, Theatre, Film, Dance, or Music, or knowledgeable historian expertise in one or more of these areas.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Ability to make decisions for the good of the students, program, and fellow team members.
- Ability to work with limited to no supervision.
- Ability to help plan events and activities.
- Ability to respond to crises while following guidelines and plans.
- Ability to support individuals in reaching their potential.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to write and document clearly.
- Ability to support students with personal care as needed.
- Ability to monitor the safety of individuals and the environment.
- Ability to pass a background check through the Department of Justice.
- A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and car insurance.
- Ability to pass a tuberculosis skin test.
Responsibilities
- Support people with disabilities in meaningful creative activities in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.
- Provide caregiving and supervision support to program participants.
- Participate in and support acting activities.
- Participate in theatre games.
- Support costuming activities.
- Build props.
- Paint and build sets.
- Participate in rehearsals, classes, and performances.
- Take students on community field trips and drive them as needed.
- Support participants during activities and help monitor the safety of individuals and the environment.
