Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience, with a license to practice Health Care Administration in Long Term Care as a Nursing Home Administrator.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare/Long-Term Care Administration, Nursing, or Social Work.
  • Five years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Enrollment in Long-Term Care Administration Courses with the expectation of receiving a Nursing Home Administrator's License within one year of the hire date.
  • Ability to drive for company business using either a company vehicle or a personal vehicle.
Responsibilities
  • Support the Nursing Home Administrator in ensuring delivery of the highest quality of care to patients and residents.
  • Lead strategic initiatives for patient and resident services.
  • Lead community outreach and develop key industry relationships.
  • Initiate and implement facility-wide planning to attain 5 Star rating status.
  • Lead resource management for all aspects of services.
  • Organize facility functions through appropriate departmentalization and delegation.
  • Assist with effective utilization of the facility's physical and financial resources.
  • Review and act upon reports from authorized inspecting agencies with the Administrator.
  • Maintain a system of responsible accounting, including budget and internal controls.
  • Assist the Administrator with continuing formal and informal education programs in health care, administrative, and management areas.
  • Assist the Administrator with recruitment, selection, and retention of department managers.
  • Educate and develop department managers so departmental goals are accomplished.
  • Empower employees to perform at their highest level and use a participative management style that allows employees to share in policy development.
  • Ensure a work environment that encourages safety, longevity, growth, and personal satisfaction for staff.
  • Ensure that a Continuous Quality Improvement Program is in place and that appropriate follow-up occurs.
  • Assist in developing mission statements, philosophies, goals, and objectives for the facility.
  • Manage key staff to accomplish facility mission, goals, and objectives.
  • Ensure effective communication among supervisors, residents, families, and health care professionals.
