Requirements
  • Completed 18 hours of graduate coursework in Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies and at least one semester of classroom teaching experience and excellent communication skills.
  • Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of responsibility, initiative, creativity, and dependability, and the ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
Responsibilities
  • Teach introductory and upper division courses in the discipline, including, but not limited to, Women in American Culture, Gender and Public Dialogue, Humanities and Gender, Gender and Art, Gender and Popular Music, History of Women in Medicine, Feminist/Women's History.
  • Utilize Blackboard to submit course syllabus, order textbooks or other reading materials, provide developmentally meaningful feedback, present engaging learning experiences, respond to students in a timely manner, communicate regularly with designated academic program director, submit final grades within university deadlines, and comply with requests such as completing an attestation disclosure form, along with completing annual evaluations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Additional graduate hours in Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies.
  • An M.A. or Ph.D. in Women’s, Gender Studies and Sexuality Studies, or a Ph.D. in a related field.
  • Experience in online/distance education instruction is also preferred.
