Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in engineering, construction, the architecture, engineering, and construction industry, or a similar field.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, a related bachelor's discipline, a related degree from a technical college, or equivalent industrial controls experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret diagrams and documentation.
  • Ability to identify parts and components for programmable logic controller, network, computer, and software systems.
  • Ability to program programmable logic controllers and human-machine interfaces.
  • Ability to travel to and from customer sites for instrumentation services and service calls.
  • Ability to perform physical activities including standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and potentially lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Modify existing programmable logic controller programs using Ladder, Function Block, and other languages.
  • Modify human-machine interfaces and develop small applications.
  • Test installed systems to verify functionality and ensure programs operate as designed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software, hardware, and system interface issues caused by drawing errors, customer changes, instrumentation specifications, or other technical issues.
  • Interface with software and application product manufacturers and vendors regarding problem diagnosis and resolution.
  • Work with others to address design problems.
  • Respond to service calls to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair programming and system failures.
  • Perform instrumentation services, troubleshooting, calibration, and testing at customer sites.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation functionality and input/output operation.
  • Repair instrumentation using meters and other tools for calibration.
  • Set up new instrumentation and calibrate it to specifications using schematics and drawings.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on test apparatus and peripheral equipment.
  • Assist with installation and maintenance projects for automating large industrial processes.
  • Use computerized equipment and software to perform testing functions and produce reports.
