Requirements
  • A graduate of accounting or a business-related course with at least 6 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience managing service operations and client deliverables.
  • Experience managing staff and/or conducting appraisals.
  • Sound knowledge of IndAS, International Financial Reporting Standards, and generally accepted accounting principles across the United States, United Kingdom, and Luxembourg, including preparing and reviewing financial statements under applicable laws and regulations.
  • Fluency in English and an additional foreign language.
  • Good understanding of private equity and private debt fund concepts and accounting treatment.
  • Working knowledge of the Investran accounting application.
  • Experience preparing and/or reviewing working paper files, financial statements with disclosures, and other financial information.
  • Operational experience in fund accounting services, preferably handling private equity and private debt funds.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and IF functions.
  • Experience using email, word-processing, presentation, and video-conferencing applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • Effective written and advanced verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using accounting software, including Investran and Paxus.
Responsibilities
  • Provide timely, high-quality service and deliverables to allocated private equity and private debt fund clients and the team.
  • Own and remain accountable for client deliverables.
  • Engage and develop teams and individuals, review core processes and complex ad hoc work, and provide feedback on the accuracy and timeliness of team outputs.
  • Review and/or prepare NAV and financial statements for private equity and debt funds, including journal entries, monthly, quarterly, and annual financials, payments, investor notices, and client reporting.
  • Assist with reviewing and/or preparing capital call and distribution workings, notices, and releases to investors.
  • Assist with converting private equity funds from other accounting applications to Investran.
  • Assist with onboarding new private equity funds onto Investran or Paxus.
  • Review and/or prepare complex reporting requirements, including financial statements, working papers, management accounts, partner statements, and ad hoc client deliverables.
  • Drive results against team KPIs and optimize team performance.
  • Facilitate and assist with accounting and administration processes for complex clients in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Lead, organize, coordinate, develop, monitor performance, and delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members.
  • Review NAV reporting, financial statements with disclosures, and ad hoc service requests for complex private equity and private debt funds and/or corporate clients.
  • Prepare complex reporting requirements when necessary.
  • Manage and ensure timely and accurate team deliverables.
  • Acquire and share specialized knowledge of client agreements, statements of work, service-level agreements, and deliverable requirements.
  • Confirm receipt of complete information and supporting documentation, and escalate missing information to cluster counterparts.
  • Coordinate deliverable deadlines and changes with the cluster, plan and assign team workload, and facilitate peer support.
  • Prepare, review, and ensure the quality of assigned client deliverables within agreed timelines.
  • Review reports generated by the team and other prepared deliverables.
  • Monitor resolution of review comments for all clients.
  • Ensure the team takes ownership of and responds to cluster, client, and investor queries within 24 hours.
  • Address and escalate job-related issues and concerns as needed.
  • Communicate review comments and follow up on pending preparer comments.
  • Monitor and oversee interpretation of client requirements, conduct research, and validate requirements when an Accountant is unavailable.
  • Draft error reports and compliance cases by identifying root causes and proposing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Gather information for quarterly team-performance debrief meetings with the cluster, including review comments and action points.
  • Decide appropriate transaction treatment when differing views arise and escalate recommendations as needed.
  • Evaluate escalated recommendations and refer matters to subject-matter experts, the Manager, or the technical team when necessary.
  • Standardize and optimize fund-process efficiency.
  • Ensure team timesheets are completed and accurately filed daily.
  • Review and approve team timesheets and pre-approve team overtime filings.
  • Set up, monitor, and update deliverables in the workflow planner.
  • Oversee workflow-planner accuracy and completeness.
  • Use accounting and reporting platforms according to best practices and generate reports from them.
  • Ensure procedures, checklists, and SSAE requirements are followed to mitigate errors.
  • Report breaches, complaints, and errors to appropriate authorities.
  • Monitor compliance-case drafts, root-cause information, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
  • Participate in interviews as needed.
  • Undertake additional professional-development tasks and escalate work-related issues appropriately.
Desired Qualifications
  • Completed Certified Public Accountant or ACCA qualification.
  • Experience working in financial services or a shared-services office environment.
  • Experience working in a multinational office environment.
  • Openness to travel and undertake overseas secondment opportunities if required.
  • A university degree in accountancy or another accounting-related course.
