Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
  • Two years of managed care or hospital-based utilization or case management experience is required.
  • At least two years of clinical experience is required.
  • A New York State nursing license is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
  • The candidate must be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • The candidate must be comfortable researching current evidence-based practice guidelines and protocols.
  • The candidate must be able to multitask, manage multiple projects efficiently, meet deadlines, demonstrate analytical and critical-thinking skills, and provide customer service that leads to positive problem resolution.
Responsibilities
  • Investigate and respond to written and verbal clinical appeals, expedited clinical grievances, and potential quality-of-care grievances submitted by members and providers in accordance with Elderplan contract benefits, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services regulations, and Department of Health regulations.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
