Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of physical therapy is required.
  • Must be licensed or eligible for licensure by the State of Ohio.
  • The license must be posted at the primary work site.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat patients in accordance with state and national practice acts.
  • Provide therapy evaluations in cooperation with referral sources to determine symptoms and functional limitations relevant to diagnoses.
  • Develop and adjust treatment plans to decrease or eliminate symptoms and functional limitations.
  • Provide direct patient care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
  • Interpret medical histories and perform functional and comprehensive evaluations.
  • Establish treatment plans based on evaluation findings, individual patient goals, and current needs.
  • Develop objective, measurable, realistic goals aligned with patient goals.
  • Implement, modify, and progress therapy using evidence-based techniques and sound clinical decisions.
  • Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients, families, physicians, and other caregivers, including them in the treatment process as appropriate.
  • Document evaluations, treatments, progress notes, discharge notes, daily charges, and outpatient re-certification letters accurately and timely in accordance with Kettering Health documentation policy.
  • Ensure documentation meets the standards of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, HFAP, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Meet departmental quality improvement and assurance standards, including patient and family education and timely discharge notes.
  • Maintain or exceed departmental productivity standards and prioritize caseloads and schedules based on patient acuity and departmental needs.
  • Assist coworkers as needed and complete assigned responsibilities and routine tasks in a timely manner.
  • Provide clinical supervision to physical therapist and physical therapist assistant students, physical therapist assistant staff, rehabilitation aides, support personnel, and volunteers.
  • Consult with physicians and other team members.
  • Perform quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
  • Provide clinical education and manage guest relations.
  • Bill for patient services rendered.
  • Pursue professional growth through literature review, professional groups, in-services, and continuing education.
  • Seek and accept constructive suggestions and implement changes when needed.
  • Work as a team member toward achieving department goals.
