Requirements
  • Must have earned a High School Diploma, or a GED.
  • Must have 5 year of work experience in hydraulics or a related field.
  • Must read, write, communicate in English as it relates to this job and safety regulations.
  • Must meet the ergonomic and physical requirements, as well as the physical base scores for this position.
  • Must be able to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform this job.
  • Must be able to perform all job functions safely.
  • Must meet the company performance standards for the job.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Computer Skills MS Office
  • Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Physical Demands While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift, carry, push, pull and /or otherwise move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.  Employee must operate equipment in a safe manner.
  • Work Environment While performing the duties of this Job, depending on site location, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and equipment. The employee may occasionally be exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee may occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in some work environments is occasionally loud.
Responsibilities
  • Promptly, at start of shift, review work schedule, check equipment and supplies required to perform the work scheduled, and prepare for operations
  • Determine the technical or physical status (troubleshoot) of each hydraulic system (hydraulic cylinders, pumps, valves, etc.)
  • Verify findings, review readings of gauges and procedures and compare to manufactures specs.
  • Prepare a plan to correct the problem consulting with co-workers or leadman when necessary.
  • Order or obtain from stock the appropriate parts needed to make the repairs.
  • Perform the necessary tooling (grinding, honing, boring, drilling) to make the part or equipment ready for repair.
  • Test the part or equipment and perform quality check after work is complete.
  • Paint components and pressure wash parts and equipment when necessary.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • At end of shift, secure all equipment and machinery, and complete all required paperwork.
  • Other duties as assigned.
