Requirements
- At least one year of Good Manufacturing Practice laboratory experience.
- A college degree in Chemistry or a related science field.
- A Bachelor's degree with a strong emphasis in natural science.
- Knowledge of basic chemistry techniques, analytical testing, and laboratory instrumentation.
- Ability to troubleshoot laboratory instruments and perform routine preventative maintenance.
- Ability to work extra hours, including limited weekend work, when necessary to handle workload spikes and meet deadlines.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business information, journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects.
- Knowledge of probability and statistical inference, with the ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint; Google Suite; Microsoft Outlook; and statistical analysis software.
- Ability to troubleshoot instruments and analyze results.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion with information.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine analytical chemical testing on products submitted to the laboratory, including raw materials, in-process batches, finished goods, bulk samples, water samples, cleaning samples, and stability samples.
- Conduct specialized analytical testing as directed by the Laboratory Manager in support of development projects, new products, method troubleshooting, and Out of Specification investigations.
- Document all results according to Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions, and review the work of other laboratory personnel as required.
- Learn and practice all aspects of laboratory instrumentation, including gas chromatography, high-performance liquid chromatography, ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry, and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy.
- Conduct analytical work supporting cleaning validations and engineering trials.
- Compile and summarize data as required.
- Perform general housekeeping and glassware cleaning.
- Communicate verbally and in writing with management, coworkers, suppliers, and customers.
- Perform other assignments as requested by the Laboratory Manager.
- Maintain and promote strong work ethics and uphold company policies and procedures.
