- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
- 0-4 years of experience in Transportation design preferred
- Certified EI - Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and work in a team-based environment
- Design software skills including Microstation or AutoCAD, OpenRoads Designer experience a plus
- Knowledge of FDOT design manuals such as FDM and Standard Plans Index is preferred
- FDOT or local municipal project experience is a plus
- Light to moderate travel in efforts to collect offsite field data
- Ability to work in various weather conditions may be required
- Ability to work extra hours, including evenings and weekends, when needed as the project schedule demands
- Perform transportation assignments under the direction of a licensed engineer with clear and specific objectives and increasing technical difficulty
- Assist with the preparation of transportation projects, reports, and documentation including plans development, horizontal and vertical alignment design, grading plans, temporary traffic control plans, and other items as needed
- Perform occasional tasks to cross-train in multiple design disciplines such as drainage/stormwater design, planning, traffic, and others
- Application of basic techniques, theories, precepts and practices in small and large transportation engineering projects
- Occasionally required to gather offsite field data accompanied by a professional engineer
- Other duties as assigned
