Job Description

Lilac is seeking an R&D Engineer to design and conduct bench scale studies to support the scale-up of Lilac’s ion exchange technology used for lithium extraction. A successful candidate will be involved with the operation of bench scale experiments, data collection and will summarize results and conclusions in technical reports. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include designing, testing, and operating process equipment, and systems at bench scale. These entail, but are not limited to:

• Fabricating small scale lithium extraction modules and associated components.
• Operating and troubleshooting automated ion exchange skid systems.
• Abiding Lilac safety regulations while performing lab work.

 Candidate Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.
• Familiar with laboratory equipment and safety procedures.
• Highly organized with sharp attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interface and collaborate with other engineers, chemists, and operators.
• Excited to work on a small fast-paced startup team with a drive to succeed and grow with the company.
• Pass a respirator fit test periodically, move up to 50 lbs on occasion, and wear PPE. 

Preferred Skills

• 2+ years of hands-on laboratory experience preferred.
• Experience with distributed control systems (DCS) and programmable logic controllers (PLC) preferred.

 Compensation

• Salary range: $90K-$130K annually (commensurate with experience)
