- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.
- Successfully complete Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school, or have at least one year of verifiable, applicable work experience as a Certified Medical Assistant in a patient-care setting.
- Maintain current certification or registration as a medical assistant through an accepted agency, including CCMA, CMA, CMAC, NCMA, NRCMA, NRCAMA, or RMA credentials.
- Applicants with medical assistant certification or registration from an agency not listed may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Assemble and apply different types of casts and various braces according to physician orders.
- Assist with transporting patients.
- Perform duties directly related to the function of an orthopedic technician.
- Assist orthopedic surgeons as requested.
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Indicator activities as assigned.
- Perform patient rounds, charting, charging, regular equipment cleaning, and in-service education directly related to orthopedic technician services.
- Maintain reasonably regular and punctual attendance consistent with applicable policies and standards.
- Maintain compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.
