Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation and commercial driver’s license regulations is required.
  • Knowledge of construction-site safety, concrete material handling, and basic equipment maintenance is required.
  • Knowledge of construction vehicle safety concepts, including vehicle and road weight capacities, is required.
  • The applicant must be at least 21 years old.
  • A commercial driver’s license Class A or B with no restrictions and a manual endorsement is required.
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
  • The applicant must submit further employment and driving history before interviewing and/or receiving an offer of employment.
  • The applicant must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and perform prolonged standing, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
  • The applicant must be flexible with last-minute schedule, location, and shift-time changes.
Responsibilities
  • Safely deliver ready-mix concrete to customer job sites while providing service and maintaining safety and professionalism.
  • Haul and unload ready-mix concrete.
  • Assemble the concrete chute and attach it to the back of the truck.
  • Operate the truck’s levers and switches to discharge concrete according to contractor specifications.
  • Complete daily concrete vehicle inspection reports and mileage logs.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, document required maintenance, and communicate maintenance needs.
  • Transport materials safely to their destinations.
  • Clean and wash the vehicle daily, including removing concrete buildup from the mixer’s interior and exterior parts.
  • Follow company policies regarding the use and wear of personal protective equipment while loading and unloading.
  • Adhere to federal and state regulations and company policies and procedures, including driving and attendance policies.
  • Transport materials with attention to detail and emphasis on safety.
  • Assist in other areas as needed.
