Requirements
  • Strong background in economics, and sophisticated understanding of the energy industry with a focus on regulation and regulatory policy, particularly the cost of capital and capital structure.
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, but open to other relevant areas such as Math, Economics or related fields with a strong foundation in quantitative analysis and 4+ years of professional experience in the field.
  • Demonstrated potential and enthusiasm to develop new expertise areas, develop professionally, and help identify innovative solutions for our clients.
  • Pre or postgraduate work experience in a related field.
  • Exceptional writing, presentation, and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong analytic, quantitative, and practical problem-solving skills such as econometrics, statistics, programming, modeling, or applied mathematics.
  • Flexibility to use a variety of conceptual frameworks and analytical tools from across different disciplines.
  • Intellectual curiosity.

  • Demonstrated record of outstanding academic and/or practical accomplishment such as publications in academic journals.
Responsibilities
  • Help clients address their important financial and regulatory issues including capital structure and cost of capital.
  • Provide expert analysis and support the development of testimony in regulatory proceedings and disputes.
  • Client assignments involve a combination of quantitative analysis and modeling of industry data, application of finance and economic theory, industry thought-leadership, and communicating findings clearly through writing and presentations.
  • Work as part of a team on consulting engagements in a collegial, development-centered community.
  • Frame problem-solving approaches, project management, supervising the project team, developing client relationships, and building personal expertise in new areas.
  • Become more involved in marketing and business development efforts.
