Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Clear knowledge and proven abilities in investment accounting and portfolio management/analysis
  • Minimum of 10+ years of accounting experience, preferably investment accounting or analysis in a property/casualty insurance environment
  • 1-3 years of experience managing a team of accountants/support staff
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and verbal/written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage, prioritize and effectively meet deadlines for multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Strong teamwork skills and display professional leadership demeanor
  • Remain flexible in a fast-paced environment and possess a customer-focused attitude
  • Proficient PC skills, particularly in Excel, Access, and Word. Skills in accounting and investment software preferred (i.e. Clearwater)
Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate and timely compilation of accounting information, analysis and reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Oversee and manage the Investment Accounting financial processing and reporting for all Investment Accounting
  • Analyze, research and document complex investment transactions or new accounting standards
  • Coordinate and maintain strong relations with Asset Managers
  • Oversee and manage month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting close and reporting for Investment accounting
  • Manage the daily activities of the investment accounting team
  • Manage and produce investment reporting schedules and disclosures for the Statutory annual statements
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley internal control requirements
