Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
  • One year of registered nurse experience.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
  • A registered professional nurse or registered nurse license valid for the applicable state of work location, as specified in the posting.
  • Advanced Life Support certification from the American Heart Association, or one of the listed emergency, neonatal, pediatric, or trauma nursing certifications.
  • Ability to maintain constant alertness and work safely.
  • Ability to communicate orally and use speech to share information.
  • Ability to stand and walk constantly; lift, carry, push, and pull objects; sit, reach, and perform keyboard use or data entry.
  • Ability to use vision, depth perception, smell, and hearing for patient care and safety tasks.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move patients and perform bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive movements.
  • Ability to drive occasionally.
Responsibilities
  • Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the health care consumer’s health or situation.
  • Triage each health care consumer using age-appropriate, developmentally appropriate, and culturally sensitive practices to prioritize care and optimize patient flow.
  • Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues.
  • Identify expected outcomes for an individualized plan of care.
  • Implement and coordinate care and provide education to promote health and a safe practice environment.
  • Evaluate progress toward attaining outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively in a variety of formats in all areas of practice.
  • Demonstrate leadership in the professional practice setting and the nursing profession.
  • Maintain knowledge and competence reflecting current nursing practice.
  • Apply evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge to Emergency Nursing practice, delivering care based on patients’ age-specific and clinical needs.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
