- Perform direct and indirect patient care duties under the direction of the registered nurse or licensed practical nurse as a member of the unit-based patient-care team.
- Position patients for surgery with guidance from the circulating registered nurse or surgeon.
- Hold patients for surgical preparation.
- Transport specimens.
- Clean operating-room procedure rooms and equipment.
- Transport, restock, and obtain patient-care supplies.
- Respond in a timely manner to the needs of patients and family members.
- Take a proactive role in the efficient operation of the unit.
- Function within Sturdy Memorial Hospital policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards and other applicable regulatory or accreditation requirements.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
