The VMware Engineer will be part of one of our premier customers working on modernization projects across IT & Security Engineering. The Engineer will be required to be onsite 3 days per week in Los Angeles, CA.
Work You'll Do:
- Design, implement, and manage VMware infrastructure, including vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi hosts.
- Perform regular maintenance, upgrades, updates, and patches to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy virtualized environments.
- Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and clients.
- Implement and manage disaster recovery solutions using VMware technologies.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve the virtual infrastructure.
What You Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with VMware hardware upgrades
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity configurations
- Familiarity with identity management system integration
- Expertise in configuring secured APIs
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with VMware technologies.
- Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.
- Experience with VMware NSX, vSAN, and Horizon is a plus.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell or other relevant tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification is preferred.
