Requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Fundamental understanding of geology and geologic stability and performance mechanisms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving history are required.
  • A Bachelor's degree (BS) in geotechnical, civil, or related engineering is required.
  • Professional Engineer registration or licensure is required, with licensure in multiple other states to be obtained.
  • At least 5 years of power or renewables geotechnical engineering experience is required.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
Responsibilities
  • Lead work procurement efforts through identification and pursuit of renewable power generation projects and client opportunities, with assigned quarterly and/or annual revenue goals.
  • Develop and maintain internal and external client relationships, including project and non-project-related face-to-face meetings.
  • Lead scope-of-work development and assist with proposal preparation for moderate to complex renewable energy projects as needed.
  • Build and manage a high-performing team and provide guidance, mentorship, and direction through regular in-person and remote interactions.
  • Lead or support client contract negotiations through the Authority Grant policy.
  • Manage project, client, and business-related risk through the Authority Grant policy.
  • Support client relationships to achieve market sector goals and strategies effectively.
  • Develop or assist in developing business goals and objectives.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through project team leadership and successful completion of project scopes of work, including schedule, budget, and safety.
  • Work with regional operations leaders to coordinate staff and resources effectively and manage workloads.
  • Prepare geotechnical engineering reports that provide professional opinions and practical solutions, along with other professional documents.
  • Perform engineering analyses using company and industry standards and methodology.
  • Review engineering analyses and reports prepared by junior-level engineering staff.
  • Perform quality reviews of work performed by assigned staff and identify, investigate, and resolve internal and external quality issues on projects.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience with large-scale construction projects is preferred.
  • Experience working in a consulting firm is preferred but not required.
  • Existing client relationships are preferred but not required.
