  • Must be able to exert up to twenty-five pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Must perform repetitive motions involving substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Must have close visual acuity for viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, and interpretation.
  • Must be able to remain stationary for prolonged periods.
  • Must execute tasks independently.
  • Must learn and memorize tasks.
  • Must maintain concentration and focus on tasks.
  • Must perform tasks in a demanding environment requiring multitasking and prioritization.
  • Must be comfortable working and interacting with large groups of people daily.
  • Compliance training and testing is required annually and as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with ophthalmologists and optometrists to provide high-quality direct patient care.
  • Obtain and document patient history.
  • Follow office workup protocols.
  • Determine visual acuity.
  • Perform automated refraction.
  • Administer eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions to the eye as ordered by a physician.
  • Perform office duties and clinical tasks, including entering data into the electronic medical record and providing patient services.
  • Measure intraocular pressure using tonometry.
  • Prepare patients preoperatively.
  • Maintain equipment and instruments.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate degree is preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in eye care is preferred.
