Requirements
  • 3+ years’ experience in a hybrid UX/frontend engineering role, or equivalent experience across both areas
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and CSS/Sass for implementing responsive and accessible user interfaces
  • Experience with GraphQL and Apollo Client for data integration
  • Solid experience with design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) and the ability to create both low- and high-fidelity mockups
  • Strong understanding of UX principles, information architecture, and user-centered design
  • Familiarity with web accessibility standards and best practices
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Detail-oriented, with a strong sense of visual design and technical implementation
  • Ability to work autonomously and take initiative in both design and engineering tasks
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand user needs and business goals, translating them into wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs
  • Develop mockups using design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, etc.) and gather feedback to refine them
  • Apply UX principles to create interfaces that enhance user satisfaction and engagement
  • Provide UI development teams guidance on adherence to accessibility standards (ADA, WCAG)
  • Build and implement high-quality UI components using React, TypeScript, and Sass, ensuring alignment with design specifications
  • Integrate frontend components with GraphQL endpoints via Apollo Client for efficient data handling
  • Maintain and enhance our styling framework in Sass, prioritizing scalability and visual consistency
  • Work closely with product managers, backend developers, and designers to iterate on design and functionality, creating a seamless experience from ideation to execution
  • Participate in design critiques and technical reviews, contributing to Vercara’s culture of continuous improvement
  • Optimize UI for performance, accessibility, and scalability across multiple devices and screen sizes
  • Conduct usability testing and incorporate user feedback to refine features and designs
  • Ensure high standards of code quality through regular testing and refactoring
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with design systems and reusable component libraries is a plus
  • Knowledge of modern front-end testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library) is a plus
