- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification - American Heart Association
- State-specific licensing requirements: LPN license issued by Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation for Illinois work location; for Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, LPN license issued by compact state
- Ability to perform under physician orders and established nursing care standards; ability to administer medications and observe for adverse reactions; ability to perform point of care testing according to policies and procedures; ability to document per treatment plan and regulatory requirements; ability to communicate patient progress with physician, supervisor, staff and family; ability to be in constant state of alertness and operate safely; physical ability to perform frequent lifting, standing, walking, reaching, keyboard use, vision, hearing, etc.
- Delivers care to assigned clients and performs direct care in accordance with an established plan of care.
- Delivers safe care at all times that is in line with physician orders and established nursing care standards.
- Maintains communication regarding patient progress with physician, supervisor, staff and family members as appropriate to the situation. Reports patient-related observations to supervising Registered Nurse on a daily basis.
- Administers medications and observes patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
- Provides documentation that follows the established treatment plan, supports coordination of patient care, meets regulatory requirements and ensures reimbursement.
- May perform point of care testing according to policies and procedures.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
