  • Knowledge of the principles applying to aircraft systems, concepts and applications of maintenance directives and data reporting, and using technical data is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Air Force supply and deficiency reporting procedures and the proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of MIS (CAMS/IMDS) and desktop computer operations and use is mandatory.
  • Must have working knowledge of Air Force supply procedures to look up, place orders, receive and maintain parts and materials to complete assigned work.
  • Completion of high school with courses in mathematics is desirable.
  • Completion of a basic applicable aircraft maintenance course is mandatory.
  • Qualification as Aircraft Worker is mandatory.
  • A minimum of three years of performing functions, such as installing, inspecting, repairing or overhauling aircraft structures, systems, and components, is mandatory.
  • Must be fully qualified AF or Sister Service NDI technician with C-130 experience.
  • SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED.
Responsibilities
  • Repairs, maintains, and inspects aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment under the technical direction of an Aircraft Mechanic, Aircraft Mechanic (Senior) or Lead.
  • Removes and installs aircraft components.
  • Conducts functional tests of repaired components and systems.
  • May be required to adjust, align, and rig aircraft systems.
  • May be required to perform aircraft jacking, lifting, and towing operations.
  • Inspects and identifies aircraft corrosion for prevention and repair.
  • May be required to perform crash recovery duties.
  • Required to perform assigned tasks within your work center that directly supports necessary functions of this job classification.
