Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in similar capacities, such as lodging, housing, hospitals, or care facilities, is preferred.
  • The associate must pass appropriate security clearances under company policy.
  • The associate must be able to stand, lift, bend, stretch, reach, see, hear, read, concentrate, think, learn, and communicate.
  • The associate must be able to push or pull 60 pounds unassisted and lift or carry 30 pounds unassisted.
  • The associate must understand proper cleaning, organization, and handling of dishes, flatware, and kitchen utensils; sanitation and cost controls; safety and security measures; and chemicals and water temperatures.
  • The associate must work within productivity standards and follow the company's cleaning procedures.
  • The associate must be able to work alone without direct supervision, work as a team member, comply with all standards, multitask, remain service-oriented, communicate professionally with guests and co-workers, and report or immediately correct hazardous conditions.
  • The associate must be able to work any day or shift, including weekends, as required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent guest service in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner while following hospitality standards, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and the usage and organization of supplies.
  • Set up the workstation, including the dish machine, chemical levels, and presoak.
  • Operate equipment as intended by the manufacturer, clean and wipe the outside of machines, and request maintenance assistance for repairs and temperature issues.
  • Clean equipment including hoods, filters, steam tables, bus tables, carts, ovens, and grills.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including storerooms.
  • Follow emergency procedures.
  • Set up meeting rooms when applicable, handle guest issues, and perform houseman duties when assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that the associate is capable of performing as needs arise in the hotel.
Desired Qualifications
  • Food Handling certification is preferred.
  • Potential advancement paths include Bar Back and Server.
