Requirements
  • 9+ years of engineering experience
  • 3–4 years directly managing engineering teams
  • Experience leading full stack development on SaaS products
  • Strong hands-on skills in Python and TypeScript
  • Experience building and scaling cloud-based systems using infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Managed teams of 6+ engineers, including remote and local team members
  • Experience leading complex, multi-quarter projects that involve cross-functional collaboration
  • Worked closely with product and executive stakeholders, contributing to roadmap planning and prioritization
  • Experience mentoring engineers, giving performance reviews, and helping team members grow through clear feedback and support
  • Understanding of building for scale—leveraging queues, caches, CDNs, and background workers
  • Experience making thoughtful technical tradeoffs
  • Owned or contributed to a team’s technical roadmap and aligned engineering decisions with both technical and business goals.
Responsibilities
  • Drive dramatic growth in one of Klaviyo’s core product areas
  • Lead a growing team with between 7 to 12 direct reports
  • Leverage AI for content generation and optimization
  • Get hands on with the code, honing technical expertise to support and mentor the team
  • Guide system design and implementation trade-offs with business partners and the team
  • Identify the critical path forward and map that into a plan for the team
  • Iterate and improve upon processes within the team and across the entire engineering department (i.e. recruiting, performance reviews, project planning, and more)
  • Drive complex projects with a team that meaningfully contribute to customers’ experience and Klaviyo’s success.
