Requirements
  • A High School Degree and 1 year of related experience are required for End User Support Specialist I.
  • A High School Degree and 2 years of related experience are required for End User Support Specialist II.
  • An AA/AS Degree and 3 years of related experience are required for End User Support Specialist III.
  • For Specialist III, an additional 3 years of relevant experience is required in lieu of the degree, totaling 6 years.
  • An AA/AS Degree and 5 years of related experience are required for End User Support Specialist IV.
  • For Specialist IV, an additional 5 years of relevant experience is required in lieu of the degree, totaling 8 years.
  • U.S. citizenship is required under the contract to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy security clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Provide prompt initial response to all assigned service requests while meeting or exceeding standard performance requirements.
  • Troubleshoot system problems and complete repairs efficiently to minimize recurrence and rework.
  • When an issue cannot be repaired during the initial visit, validate the user’s problem and provide a temporary workaround when necessary so the customer can continue working until the system is repaired.
  • Use remote assistance tools, the knowledge base, and other appropriate tools to diagnose and resolve customer issues within target time limits.
  • Communicate regularly with customers about repair or installation status, including notification when repairs are complete.
  • Provide customers with advice and techniques to avoid future incidents of a similar nature.
  • Document all required information in the call-tracking system.
  • Ensure systems are secured, including locking cases and protecting systems with passwords.
  • Complete site-specific preventive-maintenance checklists.
  • Escalate service requests to the appropriate IT support when problems cannot be handled within the provided time constraints.
  • Meet required productivity expectations, including Field Service Team metrics.
  • Meet or exceed all performance service-level targets.
  • Attempt to resolve service requests remotely whenever appropriate.
  • Partner with team members to communicate new solutions and assist other technicians when call volume is low.
  • Contribute to the knowledge base through research of articles, attended training courses, and on-the-job learning.
  • Participate in IT projects.
  • Achieve and maintain knowledge of all applicable site procedures.
  • Exercise appropriate workflow and time management.
  • Provide adequate notice for planned absences, with two weeks preferred.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Edgewater wins IT managed services contract with Argonne National Laboratory.

Edgewater wins IT managed services contract with Argonne National Laboratory. Edgewater Federal Solutions has won a 5-year contract to be the IT managed service provider for Argonne National Laboratory. Argonne is operated by UChicago Argonne, LLC, for the Energy Department. The 1,500-acre campus employs over 4,500 people, including approximately 1,600 scientists and engineers. Under the contract, Edgewater will deliver comprehensive managed IT services to support Argonne's critical research mission across energy, environment, national security and STEM disciplines, the company said. "We are honored to partner with Argonne National Laboratory in support of its vital research mission," said Rodger Jones, Energy+ president of Edgewater Federal Solutions. "This award expands our footprint across the DOE's national laboratory complex. Our growing presence in this space underscores our commitment to delivering secure, reliable, and mission-focused IT services that enable scientific discovery at the highest level." Edgewater's services include service desk operations, on-site and remote end-user support, integrated IT and audio-visual services, and management of Argonne's ITSM platform to provide a scalable, flexible and resilient hybrid support model.
