Requirements
  • A Master’s degree in Nursing for the Nurse Practitioner pathway or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant licensure in the state of employment.
  • National certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Strong clinical assessment, procedural, and communication skills.
  • The ability to maintain state certification and/or licensure.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with urologic conditions, including urinary tract disorders, kidney stones, benign prostatic hyperplasia, incontinence, and urologic cancers.
  • Conduct patient histories and physical examinations, review diagnostic studies, and develop care plans in collaboration with urologists.
  • Manage pre-operative and post-operative care, including patient education and follow-up visits.
  • Perform procedures within scope of practice, such as catheter management, bladder instillations, cystoscopy assistance, and office-based procedures.
  • Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests in accordance with scope of practice and clinical protocols.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including nursing, oncology, radiology, and primary care.
  • Document patient encounters accurately and maintain compliance with regulatory and institutional standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.
