  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required.
  • An Engineer in Training certification is required.
  • A Professional Engineer license is required, or the ability to obtain one within 1 year.
  • 5–10+ years of experience in municipal or public infrastructure engineering is required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Working knowledge of public works standards, permitting processes, and funding programs is required.
  • Ability to work effectively with municipal clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams is required.
  • Strong technical writing, organization, interpersonal, and leadership skills are required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including detailed report preparation, are required.
  • Excellent computer, math, and English skills are required.
  • Ability to work independently on design projects is required.
  • Ability to interact effectively with various personalities is required.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer is required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering design, coordination, and review services for public infrastructure projects, including water and sewer infrastructure, water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, roads, and drainage improvements.
  • Lead and oversee the design and preparation of plans for municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Lead communication and coordination with public works departments, regulatory agencies, and utility providers.
  • Perform or oversee engineering analysis, cost estimates, and constructability reviews.
  • Lead or oversee the preparation of bid documents, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Oversee construction progress, ensuring quality assurance and adherence to plans and specifications.
  • Review plans for compliance with local standards and municipal requirements.
  • Participate in public meetings and provide technical support to municipal clients.
  • Support the preparation of funding and grant applications for public infrastructure projects.
  • Participate in proposal development, scope writing, and client presentations.
