Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience managing people.
  • Open availability, including evenings and weekends.
  • Experience with organic food, natural medicine, retail, or grocery environments.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lead a team, delegate, coach, and create a positive, supportive working environment.

Responsibilities
  • Set an example for department staff through exemplary customer service, strong work ethic, and dedication to the industry.
  • Maintain department cleanliness and ensure shelves are clean, well-stocked, and faced.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels through purchasing decisions, seller and movement report analysis, and collaboration with Wellness Managers and Corporate Purchasing.
  • Maintain familiarity with vendor contact information, purchasing requirements, brands, and products, balancing established products with new, innovative, and trendy products.
  • Request new items based on customer requests, trends, or personal experience; analyze movement reports, Top 30 reports, anecdotal knowledge, and insights from other Wellness Managers to merchandise, feature, or delist products.
  • Become familiar with products featured in the bi-weekly flyer, Good Life Magazine, and supplier-driven advertising methods.
  • Ensure adequate stock and appropriate displays of featured products.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, Head Office, and other stores to plan and organize events.
  • Monitor department sales and use selling encouragement, engaging displays, and in-store sales to increase sales.
  • Merchandise the department to promote sales and create a visually appealing layout, re-merchandising sections as needed.
  • Work with the Store Manager and Assistant Manager to monitor staffing requirements, including department schedules, time-off requests, and staff-to-customer ratios.
  • Train department staff using company training materials and the established training outline.
  • Delegate work and coach department staff.
  • Uphold excellent communication and encourage open communication among department members.

  • Strong knowledge of vitamins and supplements.
  • Education in a related field.
