Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Education Measurement, Psychometrics, Quantitative Psychology, Statistics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of active experience in new test development, computer-adaptive testing, item pool maintenance, standard-setting, equating, and validity studies
  • 2+ years in a personnel management role along with a strong ability to inspire, lead, and motivate others
  • Superior organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and decision-making skills
  • Can-do attitude with an openness to others' ideas
  • Willingness to innovate and find new, efficient solutions to complex problems
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English, including the ability to summarize complex technical information and communicate it to a variety of audiences
  • Fluency in computer/statistical programming (e.g., R, Python, SQL, etc.)
Responsibilities
  • Recruit, hire, and manage a team of psychometricians to develop and maintain cutting-edge, computer-adaptive tests for K-12 education, including universal screening and diagnostic assessments for math and ELA
  • Work with company leaders to define the vision of IXL's assessment products
  • Conduct validity research, document development processes, and create technical reports
  • Collaborate with content experts to create and curate item pools
  • Work with product managers to design students' test-taking experience and user-facing reports
  • Create and maintain project schedules and workflows; communicate project goals and estimates to stakeholders
  • Communicate technical psychometric concepts to all stakeholders, including non-technical audiences
