Financial Data Analyst, Senior
The Opportunity:
We have an opportunity for you to use your analytical skills to improve financial accountability in the defense industry. As a Data Analyst, you will transform and consolidate the DoD’s massive volume of interconnected, structured, and unstructured accounting data sets and build databases, metrics, dashboards, and applications to support audit preparation and management decision-making. You’ll work closely with your customers to understand their challenges and requirements, digging into their data-rich environments to identify the key pieces of their financial reporting puzzles.
You’ll lead stakeholder interviews and fact-finding efforts, develop business rules for customer data sets, build reconciliations to support financial reporting completeness validations, generate responses to auditor requests, and standardize the DoD’s approach to audit response. You’ll provide your customers with structured solutions for responding to the DoD Inspector General, independent public accountants, and internal audit inquiries. You Have:
5+ years of experience with the DoD or Fortune 500 in the areas of financial reporting, audits, internal controls, or data analytics
Experience acquiring accounting data, building databases, generating audit samples, and responding to Provided By Client (PBC) requests
Experience writing SQL scripts to query databases and building reconciliations
Knowledge of the United States Standard General Ledger (USSGL) chart of accounts, USSGL account transactions, DoD Financial Management Regulation (FMR), Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS), or OMB Circular A-123
Secret clearance
Master’s degree
Nice If You Have:
Experience with modern relational databases, including MySQL or PostgreSQL
Experience providing recommendations to clients or customers using BI platforms, including QlikSense or Tableau
Ability to comprehend stakeholder needs, communicate development plans effectively, and track progress milestones
Ability to navigate a complex matrix environment and manage competing priorities
Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including briefing senior leadership
Possession of excellent organizational and time management skills, including handling multiple tasks simultaneously
CPA, CGFM, or CDFM Certification
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $67,700.00 to $154,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
