Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience with the DoD or Fortune 500 in the areas of financial reporting, audits, internal controls, or data analytics
  • Experience acquiring accounting data, building databases, generating audit samples, and responding to Provided By Client (PBC) requests
  • Experience writing SQL scripts to query databases and building reconciliations
  • Knowledge of the United States Standard General Ledger (USSGL) chart of accounts, USSGL account transactions, DoD Financial Management Regulation (FMR), Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS), or OMB Circular A-123
  • Secret clearance
  • Master’s degree
  • Experience with modern relational databases, including MySQL or PostgreSQL
  • Experience providing recommendations to clients or customers using BI platforms, including QlikSense or Tableau
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including briefing senior leadership
  • Possession of excellent organizational and time management skills, including handling multiple tasks simultaneously
  • CPA, CGFM, or CDFM Certification
Responsibilities
  • Transform and consolidate the DoD’s massive volume of interconnected, structured, and unstructured accounting data sets
  • Build databases, metrics, dashboards, and applications to support audit preparation and management decision-making
  • Lead stakeholder interviews and fact-finding efforts
  • Develop business rules for customer data sets
  • Build reconciliations to support financial reporting completeness validations
  • Generate responses to auditor requests
  • Standardize the DoD’s approach to audit response
  • Provide customers with structured solutions for responding to the DoD Inspector General, independent public accountants, and internal audit inquiries
