Responsibilities
  • Learning about new products/solutions under development, and effectively communicate identified legal risks with technical nuance.
  • Partnering with technology, marketing, sponsorship, sales, and others to develop and launch innovative products and solutions that will deliver the promise of the digital world to our customers.
  • Identifying and managing intellectual property issues associated with software and hardware development, including IP ownership, joint and independent development, client training, and risk mitigation.
  • Assessing legal issues associated with early platform development and go-to-market efforts, and engage with subject matter experts and stakeholders to address those issues.
  • Providing guidance and support on legal matters relating to software and hardware development, including identification of security, privacy, and intellectual property topics, collaboration with legal and business subject-matter experts, and recommendation of the path forward.
  • Drafting and negotiating a wide range of contracts (including strategic co-development and license agreements, strategic non-disclosure agreements, customer and vendor agreements, trial agreements) to drive new initiatives with startups, technology companies, and enterprise customers.
  • Assisting in fact-gathering and analysis of existing and proposed rules, regulations and laws to support public policy and regulatory efforts on issues relevant to new product and business development.
  • Working and communicating effectively with colleagues across the company to drive technology development and commercial launches.

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering discipline or computer science.
  • Non-legal professional experience working with engineering, business development, or sales teams.
  • Experience in a startup or other high growth environment.
