General Manager, EMEA & APAC
Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic, strategic and data-focused leader for General Manager (GM) role.
This critical leadership role will have ownership for the success of the programs, partnerships and teams within the EMEA and APAC regions, lead the Managing Directors (MD) across the region, and partner with the other GMs and Chief Accelerator Investments Officer to define and develop the strategy and drive outcomes for the accelerator investments (AIT) business.
Key Accountabilities:
Strategy and ownership of the region
- Drive the execution and implementation of the transformation of the accelerator investment business
- Align the region with the Techstars vision, direction and support of overall business strategy and objectives
- Establish and execute the regional strategy, including growth within existing programs and new territories within region
- Drive operational execution for the region and the broader accelerator investment business. Optimize processes and practices and foster innovation and continuous improvement throughout the region
- Provide leadership and coordination with the Revenue team on behalf of the region and execute management of all contractual relationships with corporate partners and LP’s
Team and functional leadership
- Lead, develop and coach a team of Managing Directors
- Serve as an operational and strategic leader to each program team in the region creating a holistic delivery plan
- Collaborate with other GMs, share best practices, and highlight areas of innovation and improvement across the global Techstars’ network
- Drive and manage budgets and performance. Participate in the annual planning processes for budgeting and growth within the defined territory and Techstars globally. Establish and manage quarterly business and performance metrics reviews.
Cultivate internal and external partnerships
- Serve as a thought leader and Techstars brand ambassador in the external community. Bring / translate external knowledge of market insights and future trends to benefit the enterprise
- Contribute to our global success by spearheading special projects related to scaling the accelerator platform, integrating with other internal functions, cross-functional panels, etc
- Engage with founders, mentors, investors and corporate partners to ensure the successful execution of programs and increased IRR for our investments
- Partner with internal Techstars’ teams to create and drive the pipeline and recruitment of new companies across the entire Techstars network
- Service the Techstars’ network overall: mentor new GMs, assist in other programs, work on strategic initiatives and develop meaningful and beneficial relationships across the Techstars ecosystem
Required Experience / Knowledge & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; MBA preferred
- 15+ years of experience in operational leadership including building and/or scaling a company or a function within a larger company
- 10+ years of experience directly leading a team of people including driving an environment of high performance and engagement
- Familiarity with technology organizations, startups, entrepreneurship and/or venture capital
