Responsibilities
  • Performs comprehensive nursing assessment/reassessment.
  • Establishes, coordinates and evaluates a plan of care based on analysis of assessment data, patient diagnosis, lab data, tests, procedures, physician orders, protocols and standards of care and other information as relevant.
  • Provides and documents nursing interventions based on assessed patient needs, plan of care, and changes in patient status.
  • Documents and or communicates nursing care and or changes in patient condition.
  • Specialized Care: Provides specialized care to patients at high risk for injury, including Restraint Care, Pain Management, and Abuse Assessment as applicable.
  • Demonstrates accountability for own professional practice, including adherence to quality standards and participation in learning, governance, and policy updates.
  • Ability to relate to coworkers in a professional manner, orienting/precepting new staff, and functioning as a resource and leader.
  • Safety/Infection Control: Performs job in accordance with safety and infection control policies, including standard precautions and annual mandatory requirements.
  • Service: Provides service excellence, communicates effectively, and maintains confidentiality, including handoff reports and patient education.
  • Incorporates Performance Improvement and Evidenced Based Practice into professional practice, including unit goals, data collection, and participation in improvement activities.
  • Age Appropriate Care: Provides age-appropriate care and involves family in decision making.
  • Cost Effective Services: Uses resources efficiently and contributes to efficiency improvements.
