Position Overview

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Architect is responsible for engaging stakeholders, performing gap analysis, and making recommendations to solidify and improve existing environment. They will work with business partners and cross-functional teams to provide Identity and Access Management strategies, roadmaps, and program related items to improve the posture of Adaptive’s IAM practice. They will directly be responsible in development, implementation, and management and operation of Adaptive’s IAM systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Identity and Access Management (IAM) Architect will provide guidance and implement best practice operations on applications and systems which touch all aspects of Adaptive’s infrastructure, ensuring users and systems are properly authenticated and authorized for utilization. They will use creativity to develop solutions to interesting problems; integrating new technologies with legacy systems, and engineering solutions to retrofit or replace these systems in a maturing environment. Automation and security of workloads should be a first thought of approach. This role requires a strong background in security as it relates to platform infrastructure, application security, and other aspects of network/cloud infrastructure security when it comes to identity access controls.

• Own key business processes involved with IAM
  • User Provisioning
  • Role-based Access Control
  • User access request and provisioning
• Automate IAM processes and tasks using standard tools and scripting languages.
• Provide clear guidance on Identity and Access Management security best practices
• Develop reference architecture and secure Identity and Access Management designs to be leveraged by product teams
• Develop strategies and roadmaps for Identity and Access Management technologies and capabilities which will include: Modern Authentication, Privileged Access Management, Identity Governance, Secrets Management, and Zero Trust frameworks
• Implement best practices for identity governance and administration.
• Meet with stakeholders and business leaders to understand and document use cases that can be leveraged in the creation of architectural artifacts.
• Integrate identity systems with HR, Training, and Quality systems.
• Manage onboarding and integration of new business systems.
• Establish technology and processes to maintain accuracy of access management system(s).
• Oversee the execution of regular configuration and user access reviews.
• Work closely with Audit teams for SOX, SOC 2, and HIPAA compliance
• Coordinate closely with Information Security and HR.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to the IAM team; team lead

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of related experience, including designing, implementing, and operating enterprise identity and access management technologies, including access request/management, directories and authentication (SSO) systems across diverse in-house and external business systems.
• Broad knowledge of identity and access data correlation, normalization, and building identity and access data models.
• Extensive enterprise experience in Identity and Access Management with working knowledge of enterprise hybrid cloud environments
• Strong working knowledge of Identity and Access Management Control Standards and Procedures Experience applied by setting strategy for Identity and Access Management security controls in big data and multi-cloud environments
• Experience with implementation and maturation of security controls against industry-recognized security frameworks and standards such as NIST CSF, NIST 800-53 and ISO 2700x
• Highly developed interpersonal, written, and verbal skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms. Excellent technical writing and system documentation skills.
• Demonstrated project management skills.
• Strong analytical problem-solving, and conceptual skills.

Required technical competencies and experience:

• Services based Integration (e.g. REST) of role-based access control, Active Directory, LDAP, Single Sign-On, End-User provisioning, identity and access governance, Privileged Access Management, and identity data synchronization services with existing applications and systems.
• API Gateways, Enterprise Directories, Enterprise Databases, SSO and Access Management systems, identity federation protocols (SAML), and LDAP.
• Experience working in a highly regulated environment or healthcare

Working Conditions

• Administrative work in a home/office environment.  This is a remote position requiring a quite home office space.
• Regular weekday work hours, with occasional weekend/after-hours planned or unplanned work as needed.

Physical Requirements

Occasional lifting/moving/installation of computer systems and other office/datacenter equipment.  Occasional work in datacenter environments. Occasional work in laboratory environments requires the use of protective equipment and clothing. 

Compensation

Salary Range: $126,200 - $189,200

Other compensation elements include:

• bonus eligible
