Requirements
  • Eight years of verifiable experience as a training professional in a nuclear environment, including a minimum of three years as a training lead or manager
  • Demonstrated skill and understanding of the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) process and working knowledge of DOE Order 426.2
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Adobe
  • Ability to maintain DOE site access (including background checks and site security requirements) and a valid driver's license with means of transportation
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • A baccalaureate degree in Training or Education or an equivalent combination of education and coursework in instructional analysis, design, development, delivery, testing, and evaluation of training programs; alternatives allowed per DOE Order 426.2 with evidence
  • Background in nuclear-related training environments or NRC-related experience; may include NRC licensed Senior Reactor Operator, US Navy Nuclear Power School graduate, DOE/NNSA nuclear facility shift operations roles, or similar
  • Recent (within the last 12 months) relevant experience assisting a DOE site with training and qualification program issues that led to Operational Readiness Reviews and resumed nuclear operations
  • Previous training experience at Savannah River Site and familiarity with SRS Manual 4B requirements
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and related tools
  • Security clearance considerations: ability to submit for varying levels of background investigations up to Top Secret or DOE Q clearance, and e-Verify participation
  • Travel may be required occasionally; work location is Savannah River Site / Aiken, South Carolina
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills to ensure work products are thorough and compliant
Responsibilities
  • Provide training support and lead others in the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of assigned instructional programs for Savannah River Remediation in accordance with approved Training Program Descriptions and Training Plans
  • Analyze, assess, extract and convert training content from technical or administrative documents or subject matter experts into instructional material that meets organizational standards
  • Present lesson materials at the instructional level or method established by Operations and Training Management
  • Lead and coordinate training activities and ensure milestones and delivery schedules are met
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with developing e-learning products using state-of-the-art software
  • Experience developing and conducting scenario-based team training in a simulator
  • Experience using a Learning Content Management System (for example Focus Learning’s Vision or similar)
  • Experience developing and delivering highly interactive training involving multimedia, games and other techniques to maximize retention
  • Experience developing and delivering Documented Safety Analysis, Technical Safety Requirements, or Vital Safety Systems training
  • Bachelor’s degree in Training or Education with coursework in instructional analysis, design, development, delivery and testing, as well as evaluation of training programs; alternatives considered per DOE Order 426.2
  • Background as NRC licensed Senior Reactor Operator or DOE/NNSA nuclear facility leadership roles
  • Recent experience assisting a DOE site with Operational Readiness Reviews and resumption of nuclear operations within the last 12 months
