Job Description
The Global Supply Chain Security and Dangerous Goods Expert is responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of the organization’s supply chain operations. This role involves assessing, developing, and implementing security measures in line with CTPAT Trade Compliance, AEO and other such certification requirements and compliance with Dangerous goods regulations as WD moves products cross borders.
An ideal candidate will possess a strong background in supply chain management, security protocols, and risk assessment and will be open to take on more challenges in customs related filed. The expectation is for the incumbent to be a thought leader and be able to strategize, plan and drive programs to completion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Program Management:
- Develop and implement Supply Chain Security e.g. CTPAT &/AEO, Dangerous Goods Program; Policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, IATA and Hazmat requirements.
- Successfully lead Western Digital to secure CTPAT Trade Compliance certification.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and CBP, handling communications and coordinating audits.
- Implement and expand WD’s Global Dangerous goods program by bringing in scalability and automation in the process.
- Support other WD Sites in securing and/or retaining their AEO certification.
- Institute a governance model and actively participate in associations that work towards enriching benefits for Supply Chain Security Programs.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities within the supply chain.
- Monitor changes in CTPAT guidelines and regulations to ensure the company’s practices remain compliant.
- Training and Awareness:
- Develop and deliver training programs for employees and stakeholders on Supply Chain Security requirements and best practices.
- Promote a culture of security awareness and compliance within the organization.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive records of Supply Chain Security activities, including audits, risk assessments, and training.
- Prepare and submit required reports and documentation to CBP and other regulatory bodies.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Analyze and review the processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Implement changes and improvements to enhance the effectiveness of the security program.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments, such as Logistics, Compliance, and IT, to ensure seamless integration of the supply chain security and dangerous goods requirements into overall business operations.
- Coordinate with external partners, including suppliers and service providers, to ensure their compliance with CTPAT standards.
- Internal Control Program: Responsible for developing and maintaining the company’s Internal Control Program
- Innovation: Identify new methods and technology to replace mundane or insource process to drive more cost effectiveness.

Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. (Master’s degree or relevant certifications may be preferred.)
- Certified License Customs Broker is preferred.

- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in implementing a global supply chain security, trade compliance and Dangerous goods program.
