Requirements
  • A master's degree in Nutrition or Food Sciences, or a master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of the qualifying fields: Biochemistry, Biology, Dietetics, Food Chemistry, Food Microbiology, Food Sciences, Medicine, Molecular Biology, Nutrition, Wellness with a nutrition focus, or System Physiology.
  • Flexibility to teach at any of the college's designated sites and at different times throughout the academic year.
  • Ability to work successfully in a multicultural environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a professional, diplomatic, empathetic, and tactful manner.
  • Ability to respond promptly and courteously to student and faculty questions, including assisting students with limited computer skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity, professionalism, civility, and a high degree of ethics in job-related actions.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and organize job-related tasks within established time frames.
  • Skills in identifying issues, determining causes, developing solutions, and implementing resolutions.
  • Ability to build relationships and address identified needs through interactive service.
  • Ability to organize, coordinate, manage, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or relevant position software programs.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and deliver instruction in didactic, laboratory, and/or classroom settings to promote student success.
  • Support the college and departmental missions through quality instruction, curriculum enhancement, and service.
  • Collaborate with the department chair, faculty, and peers to evaluate, revise, and develop curriculum.
  • Protect the privacy and security of student records and other sensitive information in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide students with frequent, timely assessment and clear feedback regarding academic performance.
  • Document student progress and maintain attendance, grading, and student learning outcome records.
  • Develop methods to fairly and accurately assess student progress toward stated learning outcomes and objectives.
  • Maintain office hours proportionate to the instructional assignment.
  • Provide courteous, informed, accessible, and professional service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
