Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience with organizational or program leadership, personnel management, and budget/financial management
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, technical, business, or other discipline
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Active DoD Secret clearance, with ability to upgrade to Top Secret
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Possess a general knowledge of DoD activities, including naval vessel organization and engineering systems
Responsibilities
  • Being a part of SRC’s emerging initiative with hands on Research and Development, creating a prototype that will support surface Navy networks
  • Providing general program management support to an ongoing research and development program
  • Focusing mainly on the management of a new project, to include all aspects of personnel, budget, schedule, and equipment acquisition
  • Overseeing and being accountable for overall performance of defined scope(s) of work as indicated by customer satisfaction, quality of products and/or services provided, level of profitability attained, and other such measures as may be designated
  • Serving as primary customer contact and managing overall company customer interface relationships for defined scope(s) of work to assure responsiveness to customer needs and effective professional conduct
  • Mentoring and coaching assigned personnel to enhance performance and encourage professional development, including hiring, firing, disciplining, and documenting performance
  • Developing project schedules while defining and assigning work to engineers assigned to program
  • Monitoring and controlling work in progress for technical adequacy and providing active assistance to meet schedules or resolve complex technical or customer requirements
  • Representing the company as the primary customer contact on assigned engineering contracts or programs
  • Providing programmatic direction to organizational elements executing processes required to provide products and services that meet contract quality, performance, schedule, and cost requirements
  • Establishing metrics and monitoring progress to assure contract compliance, customer satisfaction, and attainment of company commitments and objectives
  • Reporting progress to appropriate levels of management
  • Providing functional and technical guidance to engineering staff and management
  • Developing new customer contacts and conceptualizing solutions to customer problems that lead to new business for the corporation
  • Identifying additional/expanded tasking with existing customers and defining technical requirements for draft statements of work
  • Performing as a project lead on advanced specialized projects or in resolution of technical problems that would critically impact performance, schedule, or cost
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with any or all of the following: Supporting large scale Navy or DoD commands, organizations, programs, or projects
  • Personnel management to include hiring, counseling, performance feedback, and training
  • Financial management to include budgeting and expense reporting
  • Advanced certifications, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Lean Six Sigma
